Situated in the foothills of Adirondack, at the southern end of the lake of the same name is the village of Lake George. It is a family-focused tourism destination, filled with eateries, motels, tiny outlet malls and an assortment of amusements including a wax museum, theme parks and miniature golf.
But Lake George is also a place of historic significance having been inhabited by the First Nations people before the arrival of the Europeans and having witnessed clashes of the Revolutionary War. Museums and historical sites abound to narrate to the visitor this rich history of Lake George. A holiday to New York State during the autumn months will have you delighted by the peaks and slopes of the Adirondack set alight by colourful foliage.
