Army Museum of Western Australia

Army Museum of Western Australia

"To collect, conserve, and exhibit the history of the Army in Western Australia, and Western Australians in the Army".

The Army Museum of Western Australia (AMWA) is a regional museum within the Australian Army History Unit (AAHU) network. The museum is supported by the Army Museum of Western Australia Foundation (AMWAF) which provides the volunteers and support funding that enables the museum to operate.

Australian Army History Unit is a direct command unit of Army Headquarters (AHQ), under control, for administration purposes, of the Chief of Staff AHQ.

The museum is located in the historic Artillery Barracks that were established in Fremantle in 1910.  This is a 'step on the Heritage Trail' from Perth and can be considered to be a part of the Fremantle experience.
