Orana Wildlife Park

Unique animal encounters are a specialty of Orana: hand feed majestic giraffe, meet mighty rhino up close, travel through the lion habitat on a special vehicle (conditions apply). View kiwi & a range of NZ animals. Scheduled animal feeds occur daily.

Set in 80 hectares of tranquil grounds, Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand's only open range zoo and is located 15 minutes drive from Christchurch airport. Experience unique encounters: hand feed giraffe, meet rhino up close and watch tigers search for food. A range of behind the scenes tours are offered: travel through the lion habitat, interact with a cheetah or feed a lemur (contact us for costs, conditions and availability of behind the scenes tours). See monkeys, meerkats, otters and more. An extensive NZ native collection features kiwi and a range of native birds and reptiles. Guided tours operate daily and scheduled animal feeds occur regularly throughout the day. A cafe and fantastic wildlife gift shop are on-site.
