Anderson Park Art Gallery Inc
Anderson Park Art Gallery is home to Southland's largest collection of visual arts. Set in a Historic Home and surrounded by attractive gardens, Anderson Park is one of Invercargill’s most important community assets and tourist attractions.
Anderson Park Art Gallery is set in the Neo Georgian style home of the late Sir Robert and Lady Anderson, whose family gifted the property to the City of Invercargill in 1951. Designed by Christchurch architect Cecil Wood in 1925, the house is set in 24 hectares of stunning landscaped gardens, lawns and native bush.
Since its inception, the gallery has acquired Southlands largest and strongest compressive collection of visual arts with a strong representation of local work. The Gallery holds numerous exhibitions throughout the year, showing selected work from our extensive collection or that of invited guests. Our preeminent exhibition is held in Spring where nationally submitted work is selected and displayed throughout the gallery.
