Port Angeles is a town situated along the northern shores of the Olympic Peninsula, just across from the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The town is famous for its abundance of outdoors activities including biking, hiking, birding, boating and kayaking, and also serves as an access point for the Olympic National Park through the road to Hurricane Ridge. From this high area of alpine recreation, hiking trails fan out from the visitor centre during springtime leading out to wildflower meadows.
Back at sea level in Port Angeles, the Port Angeles Fine Arts Centre offers dynamic Northwest exhibits within its semi-circular hilltop gallery. On its extensive grounds is a museum with no walls that features over 100 sculptures displayed along rustic trails. The area is introduced through historical exhibits at the local Clallam County Museum. Port Angeles is also the location from which ferries depart for the beautiful city of Victoria in Canada.
