Parc national de la Gaspésie is home to 25 mountains over 1000 metres (3300 feet) high, the only caribou herd south of the St. Lawrence, a large moose population, arctic-alpine flora and spectacular scenery on every side! Come and soak in the splendours of the Chic-Choc and McGerrigle mountains and keep an eye out for wildlife (caribou, white-tailed deer, moose and over 150 species of birds) as well as unique plants (alpine tundra and several rare plant species). The main mission of the park is to protect a representative sample of the natural environment of the mountains of Gaspésie and the exceptional features of this region.
The park offers a wide variety of lodging options: campsites, huts, cabins and the Gîte du Mont-Albert hotel. The park also offers many activities: hiking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), canoeing and fishing (including salmon fishing), snowshoeing and skiing. The hotel is renowned for fine cuisine featuring regional products. A vast network of trails will help you discover the park and reach the alpine tundra. Visitors can find out more about the natural environment during discovery activities led by park wardens. Activities for groups are available upon reservation. A wide range of souvenirs, clothing for adults and children, discovery products for young people and outdoor articles are offered at the Boutique Nature gift shop. All profits are re-invested in the park.
