Eastern Province

Al-Khobar, Dahran and Dammam are prosperous areas of the country where an educated local population combined with a huge number of expatriates has resulted in liberal attitudes that are much more accepting of other faiths and cultures. With its location on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, the eastern province has a rich offering of water based fun. Starting with the most famous and popular beach "Half Moon Bay", the cornice extends from Al Khobar to Dammam, and finally ends at the integrated services waterfront in Ras Tanura and Jubail, where landscaped private sitting places and children's play areas are beautifully crafted and maintained. Along the corniche, the corridors are equipped for hiking and biking, with resorts and chalets catering to the visitors. These beaches are most visited as family destination by locals and visitors in the region.

Dammam is the capital of the Eastern region, and home to vast sea, beautiful beaches and exotic fishing places. It is a favorite destination for tourists from different parts of the Kingdom. Dammam is known to be the oldest inhabited place due to the discovery of many ancient artifacts in the Rakah district, alluding that it was a popular living site since a long time in the past.

It is called the Pearl of the Arabian Gulf and the Eastern bride. It is distinguished for its prosperous commercial malls and rich city locations, making it one of the most beautiful cities of the Arabian Gulf.

The Eastern Province has a large number of varied museums, including heritage, historic, cultural, and urban because of its history and the wealth of antiquities that were found in various locations in the region representing many of the historical periods experienced by the region.

In the Eastern Province, beauty of the surrounding sea and the seashore offers great opportunity for visitors to enjoy fresh air and sunlight. During summer, the climate is mild and at times humid near the beaches, but both ways, it is very enjoyable anytime.

There are also many marine recreation activities you can chose, such as boating, snorkeling and fishing. During the winter, when it rains, you can see eye-catching Rainbows on the horizon. The average annual temperature in the Eastern Province 25 degrees Celsius. The eastern province  has a hot desert climate. The winter temperatures range from mild to warm, but regularly drops to as low as around 8 °C (46 °F) some days. Summer temperatures are extremely hot, typical to most of west Asia and usually exceed 40 °C (104 °F) for about two months. Rainfall in Dammam is generally sparse, and usually occurs in small amounts in December.
