The Kalahari is the largest sand basin in the world, stretching from the Northern part of South Africa, through Namibia and Angola, up to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is located in the centre of Botswana and has only recently been opened to the public.
The unending space gives the impression of having the entire reserve to yourself. Nothing quite prepares you for the immensity of this reserve, nor its wild, mysterious beauty. The area is remote and wild and the harsh terrain has an unforgiving climate. Accordingly, holidays to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve are only for those who are well-organized and part of a self-sufficient group of adventurers or as part of a guided tour.
