The 9-day/8-night Deep South Discovery Tour starts with a trek through the fascinating nooks and crannies of Atlanta, Georgia, a city that once burned to the ground as depicted in “Gone with the Wind.” You’ll drop in on Tara itself or at least its inspiration, Stately Oaks Plantation, where the Tara Museum has plenty of rare memorabilia and memories from the classic film. You’ll head west to Augusta and then Charleston, South Carolina where history awaits in its charming cobblestone and treelined streets, most famous of them all, the Avenue of the Oaks.Don’t settle down just yet as you go deeper south into Beaufort, South Carolina to marvel at its well-preserved Antebellum architecture that was featured in favourite flicks like “Forrest Gump.” You’ll soon reach your port of entry to the heart of cotton country in spectacular Savannah. Then be sure to put on some shades and suntan lotion as you enter Florida, including its oldest and most westerly destinations- St. Augustine and Pensacola. You’ll wrap up your Southern Belle tour in one-of-a-kind New Orleans to savour spicy flavours in food, music, and history. 

Today, Atlanta is a lively tourist and business hub, and you’ll see this captivating city through the eyes of GWTW with a visit south to Stately Oaks Plantation, inspiration for Scarlett O’Hara’s iconic Tara. Then it’s off to Charleston, South Carolina where cobblestones and carriage rides can still sweep you off your feet. However, you’ll be taking a walking tour of the historic locale and breathe in all its elegant splendour like memorable Avenues of Oaks. Your journey will take you further south to sweeping Savannah to marvel at more storied Civil War historic highlights such as what once was the world’s largest cotton port.You’ll catch some good ole creole flavour in New Orleans before dropping in on the home of blues music in Memphis, Tennessee where Elvis “the King” Presley held court.
